Ok so I guess I'm just really lazey, cause I don't want to look all this up on my own. are there any worth while gaming laptops out there? It seems that my life would be alot simpler if I was a bit more mobile with my gaming rigs.... so I'm goin right past the Shuttle (still not doable on planes) and going to the laptop idea....
And If you guys are kinda bored and know how to build them, let me know and we can work something out where I buy the parts send to your house... you build, and I pay for the shipping back to me!!! <--- now thats lazey. I warned FNG that this was going to happen, but shipping to and from Korea would probably be really rough.
Any help would be appreciated, Charles I'd rather be killing people online...

alienware is nice...but $$$
dell xps
so is Dell, and besides, dell bought out aleinware, so when you buy an alienware, it's the same thing as a dell, sort of; the warrantee part anyway.
It's funny, Dell buys Alienware, and all of a sudden they sell corporate stuff like servers and enterprise laptops/workstations... they keep going where they are headed they will be in the bottom of the valley... [ image disabled ]
Dell's not expensive with their 30% off coupons and $35 off coupons and $750 off coupons and stuff like that. Alienware, $200 off or Free shipping, which cost about the same.
Judging by your $3k estimate, you're looking at the pretty high end 17" systems. In that case, watch slickdeals.net for deals on Dells, or sign up for the dell spam, which is worth it because they send one time use coupons.
I've seen a loaded 17" XPS for like $1400, that's with a 7800gtx, lots of ram, extra battery, dual core, dvd burner, etc. You probably wont see a deal THAT good anytime soon on an XPS, but their inspiron e1705 will allow up to a 7900gs in it and they have deals on them that go down to the $1400 neighborhood for a loaded system.
Good luck...it's usually just around the end of a quarter that they have the super good deals
